Car hire Alicante Airport

Alicante International Airport whose code is ALC and LEAL in the IATA and the ICAO respectively was opened in 1967. Run by AENA, the airport serves as the principal airport for people of Alicante and Murcia. Located southwest of Alicante, it is 11 km from the city centre. You could take the N-340 to get to the airport. Autopista A-7 from Benidorm could also be taken.

Currently there is a terminal while a second one is under construction. Air Europa, British Airways, and Scandinavian Airlines Systems fly from this airport. It is the sixth busiest airport in Spain and sees passengers from UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Sweden among other countries. Of the traffic, 80% is from international flights.

There is short term parking available for approximately 1900 cars. Between 2006 and 2007, the passenger base grew by about 2.6%. El Altet, as this was originally called replaced the older La Rabassa and is ranked as one of the fifty busiest airports in Europe.
