The Gerona airport in Barcelona is also called Gerona Costa Brava Airport and is situated about 20 km from the city centre; the airport is about 100 km from Barcelona. Built in 1965, the airport served about 4 million passengers in 2007. This is operated by AENA and has IATA and ICAO codes as GRO and LEGE. Either taking the bus or the train would be a good way to get to the airport. The metro could be taken from any part around the city and then hop on a bus that would take you to Estacio d'Autobusos Barcelona Nord.
If you’re driving down from southern Spain then take E-15/AP-7 toll road. C-25 (Lleida-Gerona) could be taken if you’re in the surrounding towns. 90% of the traffic is due to Ryanair, the low cost Irish airline. The destinations include London, Frankfurt, Venice, Dublin, Glasgow, Milano, and other European cities. Thomas Cook Airlines, Jetairfly, Smart Wings, Thomsonfly, and Wizz Air are some of the other airlines.
