Ataturk International Airport located 15 km southwest of central part of Turkey.  It is owned by General Directorate of State Airports and is operated by TAV Airport Management. The three terminals are for international, domestic, and cargo. The airport handled 25 million passengers in 2007. The light rail service goes through the European parts of the city and links them to the airport and is a very efficient way of getting to the airport. In 2006, there was a fire mishap in the cargo terminal that didn’t cause a lot of damage. There were 2 incidents in 2007; these separate accidents damaged the planes but no human casualties were reported. The Scheduled Airlines include Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, KLM Airlines, Gulf Air, and Thomas Cook Airlines. The charter Airlines are Inter Airlines, Blue Wings, Bestair, and Jupiter Airlines. The IATA and the ICAO codes are IST and LTBA respectively.
