Menorca Airport is situated about 5 km south west of Mahon, which is the capital of the Balearic island of Menorca, in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s IATA and ICAO airport codes are MAH and LEMH respectively. Since it is primarily a tourist airport, it handles charter flights in great numbers during the summer. More than sixty percent of passengers are tourist, and the rest are people travelling between the Balearic Islands. Passengers in transit include mostly those from Germany, UK and Italy.
The Menorca Airport consists of just one terminal for both, arrival and departures. The airport caters to around two million passengers in peak season. On 14 September 2006, three construction workers were injured and about twenty others were trapped when a roof caved in, but there were no casualties.
Taxis are easily available at the rank outside the main entrance, or you could book one in advance. You can contact car hire companies such as Hertz, Avis or Betacar Menorca.
