Milan’s main international airport is the Malpensa International Airport, the IATA code of which is MXP and ICAO code is LIMC. Located 50km northwest of Milan, it is a 40 minutes rail ride from the railway station at Terminal 1 to the Cadorna Rail Station at Milan.
The other two airports are Linate Airport, which serves domestic and European areas, and Orio al Serio Airport, which is for low-budget traffic.
The airport is accessible from Milan through road A8, A26 and A4, and it takes about one hour. The Malpensa Shuttle is a bus leaving from Terminal 1 and reaches Milan Central Station in an hour’s time.
Malpensa has two terminals; Terminal 1 handles commercial flights while Terminal 2 handles charter and low-budget flights. The Malpensa Airport alone handles approximately 22 million passengers annually.
Taxis are easily available around both, the arrivals and departure terminals, but most car hire companies such as Hertz and Auto Europa are located at Terminal 1.
