Car hire Pisa Airport

The Galileo Galilei International Airport (IATA: PSA, ICAO: LIRP) lies 1.5km north of Pisa, and is named after the Italian astronomer and physicist, Galileo. It handles passenger traffic of 3.5 million and is rated as one of the fastest growing airports, with a passenger growth of 30% in 2006 and 24% in 2007.

It is the base for Ryanair which began its operations in 1998, and serves 28 destinations, making it the airport’s main airline. It is widely used for Italian Air Force activities and is a base for U.S. military transport aircrafts.

In between flights, you can wine and dine at two restaurants on the first floor and the bar on the ground floor.  You can also shop at La Corte for leather goods, clothing and gifts.

Co.ta.pi. and Radio Taxi are taxi hire corporations that operate 24 hours from the airport to Pisa Centrale railway station for a fixed rate. Look out for the green canopies outside the Arrivals hall and at  Cassa Parcheggi outside the Departures, from where the ‘City Bus’ leaves every 20 minutes, and takes you to Pisa Centrale and the world famous Leaning Tower.

Hire a car at Pisa Airport by using our search engine which compares prices between major car rental companies. Unlimited mileage, Airport Fees, Theft Protection, and Collision Damage Waiver are included in the price.
