The Tallinn Airport airport is about 4km from the city centre, on its southeast side. This public airport is operated by the Estonian government and is the home hub for Estonian Air.
The IATA and the ICAO codes are TLL and EETN respectively. In 2007 there were a million passengers. Even though military operations began in 1932, the airport officially opened in 1936. The first foreign flight after WWII was in 1989. Some of the airlines include City Airline, KLM, Norwegian Air Shuttle, and Air Europa. Take the Tallinn Airport-Tartu motorway and then follow the signs to reach the airport from the city centre. There are regular buses from different parts of the city to get to the airport. The airport provides parking for a shorter duration and also for longer time. Thanks to the expansion of the airport in three directions, there are 14 new gates, 10 additional check-in terminals, and the capacity has now doubled. There's enough room to handle bigger aircraft such as Boeing 747.
